The “book” idea actually began as a real “dog-themed” children’s book.  

However, to make a long story short: 

... an incredible little boy, always underfoot, always wanting attention, did not allow for the best writing conditions. One day, looking down at that lovable snoot, a desperate plea was jokingly blurted aloud:
“Sure wish you could write this!“

Yep, in that instant, the tale turned on it’s “tail”!

Even though the book became a toy ... for dogs,  The vision is still to inspire more reading for children --and, more interactive playtime for pups.

By encouraging children to be “well-read” just like their pup, we hope to help families discover their own personal “therapy dog reading programs” right at home. Children reading to dogs is incredibly valuable for self-esteem building, feelings of accomplishment, perseverance and more. There are many therapy dog reading programs that are making a huge difference in their communities.

By the same token, engaging in a game of fetch promotes happy and healthy pets;
as well as helping people lower stress, cope with a life crisis or just have some fun.

Our intention has always been to offer something useful, fun and inspiring. Promoting one-on-one time with your children and your pets is integral to what success to everyone at bark outside the box, inc.
